The Breedam Farm, in Rijswijk, dates back to 1863 and is a Dutch national heritage site. Six different buildings are located on the site, amongst which a T-shaped farm with residential area and cowshed, two standalone cowsheds, stable, hen house and haystack. Defacto made an interior design in which the farm and additional buildings were transformed into spacious and luxurious living and office spaces. The design emphasizes the spatial characteristics of the buildings and ensures that sufficient daylight enters the sheds. The attic, usually a space that is hard to use efficiently as a result of sloped walls, was redesigned by cleverly combining storage space, heating and lighting.
